Eligibility Criteria for IBPS RRB Recruitment
Candidates applying for IBPS RRB Recruitment must fulfil the basic eligibility conditions prescribed for the particular post. The age requirement is different for different posts. For Office Assistants (Multipurpose), candidates must be 18 to 28 years old. For Officer Scale-I, candidates must be above 18 years and below 30 years. The age limit for Officer Scale-II is above 21 years and below 32 years, while Officer Scale-III candidates must be above 21 years and below 40 years. Age is reckoned as on 01.09.2026.
Category-wise age relaxation is available for eligible candidates as provided in the notification, including applicable provisions for SC/ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities and other specified categories. The notification also contains provisions relating to ex-servicemen and certain other eligible categories. Candidates must fulfil the prescribed nationality/citizenship requirements and should be able to provide documentary proof of their eligibility when required.
Candidates should note that merely applying, qualifying in the CRP or receiving provisional allotment does not guarantee appointment. The concerned Regional Rural Bank remains the final authority regarding recruitment and may verify eligibility and documents before appointment.
Educational Qualification for IBPS RRB Recruitment
The educational qualification depends on the post. For Office Assistants (Multipurpose), candidates require a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent and must possess proficiency in the local language prescribed by the participating RRB. Officer Scale-I also requires a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline or its equivalent, while preference is given for qualifications in specified fields such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy. Scale-II and Scale-III positions have separate educational qualification and experience requirements according to the specific post, including specialist qualifications wherever applicable.

For Officer Scale-I, II & III, the fee is ₹175 including GST for SC/ST/PwBD candidates and ₹850 including GST for all other candidates.

Selection Process
The selection procedure varies according to the post.
For Office Assistants (Multipurpose), candidates will appear in the Online Preliminary Examination followed by the Online Main Examination. Candidates qualifying in the Preliminary Examination and shortlisted for the next stage will appear for the Main Examination. Provisional allotment will be based on the marks obtained in the Main Examination and the actual vacancies reported by the concerned RRBs.
For Officer Scale-I, candidates will first appear in the Preliminary Examination. Shortlisted candidates will then appear in the Main Examination, followed by a Common Interview for candidates shortlisted from the Main Examination.
For Officer Scale-II and Scale-III, candidates will appear in a Single Online Examination. Candidates shortlisted from this examination will subsequently be called for a Common Interview.
