Eligibility Criteria of UPSC Indian Forest Service Exam 2026 :

Age Limit: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on the 1st of August, 2026 i.e., the candidate must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1994 and not later than 1st August, 2005.

Age Relaxation: Category-wise age relaxation is as mentioned below.

• SC/ ST: 5 years
• OBC: 3 years
• PwBD: 10 years.

Educational Qualification for UPSC Indian Forest Service Exam 2026 :

A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the subjects namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering of any of Universities incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.

UPSC Indian Forest Service Exam Scheme :

The Indian Forest Service Examination will consist of two successive stages :

(i) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination; and
(ii) Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service.

The applicant will be asked to pay an examination fees which are categorised as under :

Candidates are required to apply Online using the link for Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination which will act as a screening mechanism for selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination. Candidates who wish to apply for Civil Services Examination also [subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions], have to apply once by appropriately indicating in the Online Application Form that they intend to appear for both the Indian Forest Service Examination and the Civil Services Examination.
