Eligibility Criteria for Ship Building Centre Recruitment 2026

For Construction Handler (Electrician), 10th Standard qualification and an ITI certificate in the relevant trade are required.

For Fire Engine Driver (Ordinary Grade), candidates must possess a valid heavy motor vehicle driving licence, knowledge of motor mechanism, at least three years of heavy motor vehicle driving experience, 10th Standard qualification and the required physical fitness. Civilian Motor Transport Driver (Ordinary Grade) requires a valid licence for motor cars and light motor vehicles, knowledge of motor mechanism, three years of motor car driving experience and 10th Standard qualification. A heavy vehicle driving licence is desirable for CMTD (OG).

Selection Process and Examination Pattern

All applicants will have to appear in an online Computer Based Test (CBT). There is no Endurance/Skill Test for Construction Assistant ‘A’ and Construction Handler candidates. Candidates for FED (OG) and CMTD (OG) will be shortlisted through CBT merit for the applicable Endurance/Skill Test.

The Endurance/Skill Test is qualifying in nature. The final provisional merit for the posts will be based on CBT performance, subject to qualifying in the applicable test.

The CBT will generally contain bilingual questions in Hindi and English, except General English. Minimum aggregate qualifying marks are 35% for UR, 30% for OBC and 25% for all other categories.

Reservation Details
