CLAT 2025

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance exam for admissions to undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) law programmes offered by 22 National Law Universities in India. CLAT is organized by the Consortium of National Law Universities, comprising representative universities. Several affiliate universities and organisations also use the CLAT exam for admissions and recruitment respectively.

All admissions to the 5-year integrated Ll.B. and Ll.M. programmes that commence in the Academic Year 2025-2026 shall be through the CLAT 2025. The Consortium of NLUs has released the CLAT 2025 application form from July 15th, 2024. The last date to fill the CLAT 2025 registration is October 15th, 2024. CLAT 2025 exam will be conducted on December 1st, 2024, in offline mode.

Eligibility Criteria for CLAT 2025 :

The CLAT 2025 qualifying criteria for UG and PG Programmes are as mentioned below.

UG Programme:

Age Limit: 
There is be no upper age limit for candidates appearing for UG Programme through the CLAT 2025.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must secure the following minimum percentage of marks in their qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2 or an equivalent examination):

# Forty five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General / OBC / PWD / NRI / PIO / OCI categories
# Forty Percent (40%) marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.

PG Programme:

Age Limit: There is be no upper age limit for candidates appearing for PG Programme through the CLAT 2025.

Educational Qualification: An Ll.B. Degree or an equivalent examination with a minimum of Fifty percent (50%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to General/OBC/PWD/NRI/PIO/OCI categories and Forty-Five percent (45%) marks or its equivalent grade in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.

Application Fees for CLAT 2025 Exam:

Interested and eligible candidates have to pay an application fee of amount as mentioned below during online submission of CLAT application . The fee can be paid using a credit card/ debit card/ net banking/ e-challan/ UPI.

  • Fill your all personal and educational details and upload necessary documents.
  • Make payment of application fee as per your category and submit the form.
  • Take a print out of CLAT application form for future reference.

Syllabus :

Candidates who want to appear for the CLAT 2025 examination must be aware about the exam syllabus. This section describes the syllabus of both CLAT UG and PG Syllabus.

CLAT UG Syllabus :

The UG-CLAT 2025 would focus on evaluating the comprehension and reasoning skills and abilities of candidates. Overall, it is designed to be a test of aptitude and skills that are necessary for a legal education rather than prior knowledge, though prior knowledge occasionally may be useful to respond to questions in the Current Affairs including General Knowledge section.

CLAT PG Syllabus :

The PG-CLAT 2025 will feature an emphasis on the comprehension abilities of the students.

The paper will be based on the mandatory subjects of the undergraduate program and include Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Administrative Law, Law of Contract, Torts, Family Law, Criminal Law, Property Law, Company Law, Public International Law, Tax Law, Environmental Law, and Labour & Industrial Law.
