The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) will provide a common platform and equal opportunities to candidates across the country, especially those from rural and other remote areas and help establish better connect with the Universities. A single Examination will enable the Candidates to cover a wide outreach and be part of the admissions process to various Central Universities.
For the Academic Session 2026-2027, CUET (UG) – 2026 will be conducted from 11th May 2026 to 31st May 2026. This article helps all aspirants to know all details of CUET.

Eligibility Criteria of CUET UG Exam :
Age Limit: For appearing in the CUET (UG) – 2026, there is no age limit for the candidates.
Educational Qualification:
The candidates who have passed the class 12 /equivalent examination or are appearing in 2026 irrespective of their age can appear in CUET (UG) – 2026 examination. However, the candidates will be required to fulfill the age criteria (if any) of the University / Institution / Organization in which they are desirous of taking admission.

Examination Fee of CUET :
For CUET (UG) – 2026, fees will be charged based on the number of subjects chosen by the candidates. The following fee structure is applicable for CUET (UG) – 2026 :

Interested and eligible candidates may apply online for CUET Exam by visiting at official online portal of NTA CUET. They may follow below mentioned steps .

Scheme of CUET UG Examination :
Name of exam: CUET (UG) – 2026
Total subjects: 37 (13 Indian languages + 23 domain-specific subjects + 01 General Aptitude Test)
Choice of Test Paper: Candidates may choose upto a maximum of five (05) subjects including languages and General Aptitude Test irrespective of the subjects opted in class XII.
Medium of the Test: 13 languages (Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu)
Language Subjects: Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu
Total Questions:50 questions for each test papers. All Question are compulsory.

Type of questions: Objective type with Multiple Choice Questions
Marking Scheme: Correct Answer: 05 marks (Five), There will be negative marking for each incorrect answer of 01 (one) mark.
Duration of Test: Duration for each test paper would be 60 minutes The examination will be conducted in multiple shifts depending on the number of candidates and their combinations. (Compensatory time for PwBD Candidates of 20 minutes for each hour).

Syllabus of CUET Exam :
Language: Language to be tested through Reading Comprehension (based on different types of passages–Factual, Literary and Narrative, and Literary Aptitude and Vocabulary.
Domain Subject: As given on NTA website https://cuet.samarth.ac.in . As per NCERT Syllabus
General Test: General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning (Simple application of basic mathematical concepts Arithmetic / Algebra / Geometry / Mensuration / Statistics), Logical and Analytical Reasoning.
