Gauhati University has released the official notification for Gauhati University PG Admission 2025 process. Accordingly, Gauhati University has launched its online Post Graduation (PG) admission form fill up portal where aspiring and eligible candidates will be able to fill and submit online application form for various Post Graduate Programmes including Post Graduate courses in Arts (MA), Science (MSc) and Commerce (MCom).

Eligibility Criteria :

Here is the eligibility criteria for admission into various post graduate courses under Gauhati University.

MA and MSc Courses:

# B.A/B.Sc./B.Com. (in 10+2+3 pattern) with Major/honours courses in the concerned subject or
# B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (in 10+2+3 pattern) with a general pass course with at least 45% Marks in the concerned subject as well as in aggregate or equivalent CGPA.

MCom Course:

# B.A/B.Sc./B.Com. (in 10+2+3 pattern) with Major/honours courses in the concerned subject or
# B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (in 10+2+3 pattern) with a general pass course with at least 45% Marks in the concerned subject as well as in aggregate or equivalent CGPA.

# 45% Marks is to be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in Part I and Part II of the (2+1) pattern and part I, part II and Part III of the (1+1+1) pattern .

GU PG Common Entrance Test

There will be a Common Entrance Test for admission into different Post Graduate Courses to be conducted by Gauhati University (both for the University Departments and the Affiliated Colleges of the University) for the session 2025-2026. Admissions will be based strictly on the performance and eligibility criteria of the Entrance Examination.

Application Fee

Candidates have to pay a non-refundable amount of Rs. ____ as application fee to complete their application for the Post Graduate Entrance Test to be conducted by Gauhati University. Application fee payment can be done through the online mode of payments.

How to Apply :

The admission process to various PG Courses under Gauhati University will be done through online mode. Online application process will be started from 5th June 2025. To submit an online application, pl follow the below mentioned steps.

  3. Enter your all credentials & upload required educational and other documents.
  4. Make the payment of Application Fee as per your course .
  5. That’s it, submit your application form and take a print out of it.

About GU PG Entrance Test :

There will be an Entrance Test for admission into different Post Graduate Courses to be conducted by Gauhati University (both for the University Departments and the Affiliated Colleges of the University) for the session 2025-2026. Admissions will be based strictly on the performance and eligibility criteria of the Entrance Examination.

An applicant can appear in the Gauhati University Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET-2025) in a maximum of 3 (three) subjects. They can choose only ONE subject from Traditional Programmes and TWO subjects from Interdisciplinary Programmes.
